So here's the big announcement!
Ok, wait...some background info first!
Back in October, I decided that I would celebrate my 1 Year Runniversary with a Half Marathon.
Yes, I know. Crazy talk.
I am not sure if you have to be a bit crazy to decide to run, or if running is what makes you crazy.
I have been trying to figure it out, but have determined that it is like the 'Which came first, the chicken or the egg?' and it will forever be a mystery. As a runner, you just accept it and move on.
(I am kind of happy that I have an excuse for the crazy!)
I did a little research on and around the date of my Runniversary (yes, I love that word that I totally made up!) I decided to go with the RiteAid Cleveland Marathon. It looked fun and is fairly close to MI. I think it was in November that I saw a post on Facebook that was encouraging bloggers to apply to be an Official Blogger for the Cleveland Marathon. As luck would have it, it was the very last day to submit your application. I went ahead and applied. Honestly, this 3-Day Cleveland Experience had nearly 15,000 participants last year and I am pretty sure that 14,999 of them are bloggers (seriously...a LOT of people blog about running!) Ok, I may be exaggerating
slightly a lot. But at any rate, I didn't figure I had any chance of being selected since there was only to be 12 bloggers.
After a long wait and then a couple days delay, I received an email that said I had been selected!
Holy Cow! Seriously? Yup...I was so excited (still am!)
I have some obligations as an 'Official Blogger' (I feel cooler than I probably am. Ha!) and regular blog posts are one of those obligations. No worries! I am a regular blogger! Ok, shh...I try to be a regular blogger!
But as you can see from the new and incredibly fabulous header, that I have deemed Mondays to be "Marathon Monday" - Woohoo!
With that, I will be sharing info about the marathon, stuff about my training and all sorts of fun things. Yay!
There is a direct link to all of the 'Official Bloggers' up there on your right (for those of you playing the home game and not the mobile version). Along with the 12 bloggers, there are also 8 guest bloggers. They all look to be an awesome group of runners. I am excited to be a part of the Run.Train.Blog. team! (we're not officially a team per se, but you know what I mean!)
I hope you will check in and be a part of Marathon Monday from now until May 19th, when I will take on those 13.1 miles!
I would love to hear from you!
Are you running your first Half this year?
Will you be at the Cleveland Marathon?
Any advice for a Half Marathon newbie?
