What day is it?

Hey, it's Wednesday already!

(I had to look at the calendar to find out what day it was...very sad)

I am going to blame my son's school schedule and the weather for me not knowing what day of the week it was. They get these random days off and I know they give a reason, but they still are pretty darned random.

Last week they were off Monday and Friday for teacher days and end of quarter.

Well, Michigan has decided to run through 3 seasons in the last 5 days.

We had a snow storm on Friday.

More snow on Saturday.

Trust me, I didn't bother to measure how many inches. It is January 30th and a single flake on the ground is entirely too much for me. (If I had my way we would have snow on Christmas eve and Christmas day. That's all!)

The temps warmed up enough to turn the snow to rain. The rain came down on the frozen junk on the ground and created an ice extravaganza on Sunday. Rain over snow and semi frozen ground creates ice and fog...In case you have never had the pleasure. 

This meant no school on Monday.

It was better yesterday, but still icy and foggy in spots. 

For some reason, the bus never showed up and I didn't get to run since ice skating is not part of my running plan. Ugh!

So, 23 degrees on Sunday for my long run. Tuesday run delayed to today, due to icy roads. Today...43 during my run and currently 50 outside. The only remaining snow is desperate, dirty patches that used to be piles. Awesome! (not really) 

Just for fun, it will be 18 tonight and snow. Oh! We also had thunderstorms yesterday!

3 season, 5 days.

The temps did make for a pretty nice run this morning. I got to wear my cool new bright orange 3/4 zip!

My multi-tasking continued as I answered a phone call from my son around mile 1.5 - He was sick and needed me to pick him up. Wait...you don't answer your phone when you run? Ha...you can see the little microphone on my earbuds. I am such a dork!

I got some awesome wireless headphones for Christmas, but have yet to break them out.

{sigh}

All in all, it was a nice run. 28:15, I think it was. A 9:10 pace which is comfy (too comfy).

The morning ended with a late (as usual) breakfast of a healthy muffin, decaf and some Nuun (as usual).

I guess I am pretty predictable.

The boy is on the couch and I am fighting the urge to take a nap.

All this dreary weather makes me SO sleepy!

That's my awesome day...

I am off to check on my carrot chip experiment that is roasting away at the moment.
